Duncan Marquiss (b. 1979 in Dumfries, UK) received his MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 2005. Selected solo exhibitions include, “Distressed Inventory” at Sorcha Dallas (Glasgow, 2011); “There is no You” at Galerie Peter Kilchmann (Zurich, 2009); “Nachdrag” at Galerie Peter Kilchmann (Zurich, 2008); and “The Clay Wall” at Dicksmith Gallery (London, 2007). Marquiss has participated in group exhibitions at the E-Flux Space (New York, 2011); Hotel (London, 2010); and Marc Jancou Contemporary (New York, 2008), among other venues. Marquiss has received numerous honors including a grant from the Elephant Trust (2010) and the Scottish Arts Council Residency at Cove Park (2008).
