Douglas Gordon (b. 1966 in Glasgow) studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1984 to 1988. From 1988 to 1990 he undertook a graduate program at the Slade School of Art in London. Selected solo exhibitions include “Phantom” at Yvon Lambert Gallery (Paris, 2011); “k.364” at the Gagosian Gallery (London, 2011); “Douglas Gordon” at Galerie Eva Presenhuber (Zurich, 2009); “Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait” at the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, 2007); “Superhumanatural” at the Royal Scottish Academy Building (Edinburgh, Nov. 2006 – Jan. 2007); “Douglas Gordon: Timeline” at the Museum of Modern Art (New York, 2006); and “Douglas Gordon’s The Vanity of Allegory” at the Deutsche Guggenheim Museum (Berlin, 2005).  Group exhibition venues include the Minsheng Art Museum (Shanghai, 2011); the Wexner Center for the Arts (Ohio, 2010); and Dundee Contemporary Arts (Dundee, 2009). Gordon has received numerous awards including the Roswitha Haftmann Prize (2008); the Hugo Boss Prize (1998); and the Turner Prize (1996).

Jim Lambie (b. 1964 in Glasgow) received his BA (Hons) from the Glasgow School of Art in 1994. Selected solo exhibitions include, “Beach Boy” at the Pier Art Center (Orkney, UK, 2011); “Boyzilian” at Galerie Patrick Seguin (Paris, 2010); “Metal Urbain” at the Modern Institute/Toby Webster Ltd. (Glasgow, 2010); “Television” at Sadie Coles HQ (London, 2009); “Forever Changes” at the Gallery of Modern Art (Glasgow, 2008); and “Unknown Pleasures” at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art (Tokyo, 2008). Lambie has also shown at the Henry Moore Institute (Leeds, Sept. 2010 – Jan. 2011); Tate Liverpool (Liverpool, 2009); the Museum of Modern Art (New York, 2008); The Barbican Art Gallery (London, 2008) and the New Museum (New York, 2007). In 2005, Lambie was shortlisted for the Turner Prize.

Martin Creed (b. 1968 in Wakefield, UK) studied at the Slade School of Art in London from 1986-1990. Creed has shown work in numerous solo exhibitions including, “Mothers” at Hauser & Wirth (London, 2011); “Paintings” at the Johnen Galerie (Berlin, 2011); “Numbers” at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Moscow, 2010); “Down Over Up” at the Fruitmarket Gallery (Edinburgh, 2010); “Things” at the Common Guild (Glasgow, 2010); and “Martin Creed” at the Ikon Gallery (Birmingham, UK, 2008). Creed’s work has also been shown in group exhibitions at Spike Island (Bristol, 2011); the Total Museum of Contemporary Art (Seoul, 2009); the Museum of Modern Art (New York, 2007); the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Edinburgh, 2006); and Gavin Brown’s Enterprise (New York, 2005). In 2001, Creed was awarded the Turner Prize.

Rory Donaldson (b. 1965 in Edinburgh) received his MA from the University of Ulster, Belfast in 1987. From 1997 to 1998 Donaldson participated in the Whitney Museum’s Independent Study Program in New York. Solo exhibitions include “PLOT” at the Winkleman Gallery (New York, 2008) and “Generations of Love 2006 mix” at The Crescent (Scarborough, UK, 2006). He has participated in group shows at Deep Space (New York, 2010); the Royal Scottish Academy (Edinburgh 2009); and the Serpentine Gallery (London, 1998). In addition to receiving such honors as the Morton Award from the Royal Scottish Academy (2008), Donaldson has been the recipient of numerous public and private commissions.

John Shankie (b. 1957 in Lanark, UK) received his MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 1995. His solo exhibition, “Open Sea” was held at the Cairn Gallery (Pittenweem, 2008). Shankie has also participated in group exhibitions at 83 Hill Street (Glasgow, 2011); the Compartment Gallery (Manchester, 2005); Konstepidemin (Gothenburg, 1999); Dundee Contemporary Arts, (Dundee, 1999); the Hayward Gallery (London, 1999); and De Markten Arts Centre (Brussels, 1997). He is the recipient of numerous awards including a Creative Scotland Research and Development Award (2011); Scottish Arts Council Equalities Award (2010); and the Scottish Arts Council New York Residency (2006);

Ric Warren (b. 1986 in Barnsley, UK) earned his BA (Hons) from the Glasgow School of Art in 2008. Recent solo exhibitions include, “Borders, Boundaries & Barricades: Redeveloping Geographies of Division” at David Dale Gallery and Studios (Glasgow, 2011); “Punctuating Separations” at Clydebrae Studios (Glasgow, 2010); “Towards a New Theory of Urban Apartheid” at the White House Gallery (Glasgow, 2009); “Façade (Public Intervention)” at Via Dello Sprone (Florence, 2008); and “Deluge” at the Edinburgh Art Festival (Edinburgh, 2008). Warren has also shown at MOT International (London, 2011); Generator Projects (Dundee, 2011); and the Royal Scottish Academy (Edinburgh, 2009) among other venues.

Sandy Smith (b. 1983 in Dunbar, UK) received his BA (Hons) from the Glasgow School of Art in 2005, and will receive his MFA from Columbia University in 2012. Solo exhibitions include, “Worn Once, no Tears, no Stains” at Space in Between (London, 2011); “Into the Desert” (in collaboration with Alex Gross) at Infernoesque (Berlin, 2010); “You Are the One” at Arcan Mellor (London, 2009); and “I Thought it would be More Personal” at Koh-I-Noor (Copenhagen, 2006). His work was included in group exhibitions at Galerie Lena Breuning (Berlin, 2010) and Galleri Esplanaden (Copenhagen, 2009), among other venues. In 2011 Smith received a Dewar Arts Award. In 2010 Smith was the recipient of a Fulbright Grant.

Kate V. Robertson (b. 1980 in Edinburgh, UK) received her MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009. Her most recent solo exhibition, “Plaza,” was held at Rez de Chaussee (Glasgow, 2011). Previous solo shows include “Pieces” (Berlin, 2010) and “Far Away So Close” (with Vivienne Griffin) at the Subletters Gallery (New York, 2008). She has also shown at the Glue Factory (Glasgow, 2010), among other venues. In 2009, Robertson has held a residency at the Mousonturm Haus in Frankfurt
